Ham and Potato Soup

Ingredients:
3 ½ C Peeled and Diced potatoes (2 large russet Potatoes)
⅓ c Diced celery (1 celery stick)
⅓ C Finely chopped onion (Use a small sweet onion)
¾ C Diced Cooked Ham (Add a little more than it calls for, about a 1 C total)
3 ¼ C Water
2 Tbsp Chicken Bouillon Granules
½ Tsp salt
1 Tsp Pepper
5 Tbsp butter (use real unsalted butter)
5 Tbsp flour
2 C Milk

Instructions:
Combine the Potato, celery, onion, ham and water in a stockpot. Bring to a boil, then cook over medium heat until potatoes are tender, about 10-15 minutes. Stir in chicken bouillon, salt, and pepper.
In a saucepan, melt butter over med-low heat. Whisk in flour with a fork, and cook, stirring constantly until thick, about 1 minute. Slowly stir in milk as to lot allow lumps to form until all milk has been added. Continue stirring over med-low heat until thick, about 4-5 minutes(Doesn’t get too noticeably think until it’s mixed with the potatoes). Stir milk mixture into stockpot, and cook until heated through.

Note: The amount of spices in this recipe is perfect. You could add a little garlic powder if desired.
