I found all these yummy looking things on Pinterest and now I want to make them on my own without a recipe. They look so yummy!
I finally got my dish set!! I have wanted these dishes for as long as I could remember. I know it seems silly to get so excited about dishes but for a little housewife this is amazing! I can't wait to cook something a little more fancy for them but here's our first meal on my new plates.
I have always dreamed of making a fancy dinner on white plates and drizzling some type of sauce all over the plate to make it look straight from a restaurant. I've been talking about wanting these plates for as long as I can remember so I decided I would blog about it. I don't need bowls because I got some gorgeous deep bowls that would go so great with a white plate set. The only problem is I don't have the white plate set. I guess I can hope :)
Aren't they just lovely.
To add to this I thought I would write about how I dream about my kitchen looking. Maybe one day I will be able to make it happen.
In this picture I would LOVE to have this table! Doesn't it make you just want to open the blinds and take an hour drinking your coffee in the morning and reading a good book.
These chairs are too die for! It is actually making me sad blogging about this because that means I'm not actually doing it... yet!
And to top it all off. I'd love to be in a cute apron with flour coated hands, standing by the stove baking cookies. Call me cliche but how could you not?!
I want pursuing the bulk isle of the grocery store, which is something I often do, and I came across Graham cracker crumbs. I don't know if there is an actual recipe for this but I thought it would be a tasty way to bread chicken. Here's what I came up with:
I got two plates and a bowl and in the bowl I mixed egg and a little bbq sauce. On the first plate I put flour and on the second I mixed the graham cracker crumbs with a little pepper. I like the cut my chicken breasts like I am going to butterfly them but I keep cutting all the way through. I find them easier to manage and faster to cook this way. I dipped each breast into the flour then the egg mixture then the graham cracker crumbs. I placed them in a greased baking dish and poured a little melted butter on each breast.
There is one thing I would change about this recipe as it was a little sweet and not very crunchy. I would mix half graham cracker crumbs with half panko crumbs to give it some crunch. I baked these at 400F for 20 minutes. This was the perfect heat and time I found, to make them moist and fully cooked.
I then skinned and sliced a sweet potato and put the slices on a big piece of foil and sprayed them down with olive oil spray. Sprinkle a little salt, pepper, and chili powder and folded up the foil. I placed these on the bbq for about 25-30 minutes at medium heat.
I also layed about half a bundle of asparagus on a large piece of foil, put them in three bundles and sprayed them with olive oil and sprinkled a little salt and pepper on them. I then took three pieces of bacon and wrapped each bundle of asparagus in the bacon, using tooth picks to secure the bacon. Leave the foil open like a bowl. Place these on the bbq at medium to low heat and keep an eye on them. They don't take long to cook and you want to keep turning them to get the bacon to cook on all sides. Once the bacon is crisp these are done. I'd say only 10-15 minutes so time it accordingly.
I really enjoyed this meal and it was super easy to make. I hope you give it a try.
I love this one! I made it last night and it turned out great! I baked a granny smith apple with shallots and pan seared pork chops with BBQ sauce and oh boy were they tender and delicious! If you want the recipe I'd be happy to type it up for you. For the green beans I just fried up some minced shallots and mushrooms and then added water to steam the green beans.
I'm going to say this was one of my all time favorites and I'm actually not a big fan of pork.

I really want to pull a "Julie and Julia" but I've never really had the desire to cook from Julia child's recipes. With that said I decided I would find a chef that I liked and I would go through every recipe of his/her cookbook and record every one I make. After a lot of thought I realized I would love to cook from Ina garten's new book anyways so all I need is to buy it.
Wish me luck!

I was actually wondering why asparagus isn't eaten uncooked more often. Its so healthy and so yummy! So here's a little suggestion for you all. This is what Troy and I had for a snack today.
Here's my latest concoction. It was one of the tastiest things I've made. Mhmm..
I thought I would put a little spin on the classic Chicken Cordon Bleu. I make a combo of milk, flour, and eggs in a bowl and another combo of Mrs. Dash garlic and herb seasoning and panko bread crumbs on a plate. I covered the outside of my butterflied chicken breasts in the milk mixture and then dipped them in the panko mixture. I layed them breaded side down and opened up. I then took a slice of honey ham and placed shredded mozzerella cheese and 3-4 pieces of asparagus on top of the cheese. I closed it all up and held it together with tooth picks.
This took about 15-20 minutes to cook and then I took the tooth picks out and flipped the chicken over and baked it for another 15 minutes on the other side. It was really thick chicken and with all the stuffing it took a little longer than normal to cook but it was super juicy and not dry at all.
With the potatoes I sauteed red bell pepper in olive oil and as it started to soften I added garlic and cooked that for only like 30 seconds to turn it a light brown. Remove it from the pan so it doesn't continue cooking.
I peeled and cut up two large baker potatoes and boiled them until soft. Drained them and put them into my amazing Boche. I added about a tablespoon and a half of cream cheese, a little milk, some shredded cheddar, and the garlic and peppers. sprinkle with a little pepper and ship them up in the boche.
(Sorry I don't have measurements of anything because I don't actually use a recipe but I can easily come up with measurements if needed.)
I spent all day today, with the exception of a short lunch break, cleaning and organizing my house. I'd love to share the outcome of all my hard work and maybe give some of you a little motivation to get some bins and dive in!

I didn't take a before picture but this is under our bathroom sink now.
I had so much fun organizing everything and finding out how much more room I can have. Our house fairly small for all of our things but being organized makes all the difference in the world! If you need any tips leave a comment or email me.
